Interesting Characters

義（义）：yì—Righteousness
The Chinese character for “righteousness” is formed by the character “lamb” on top of the character for “me.” Interestingly, in the Bible, the sacrifice of a lamb was for the atonement of sins (albeit as an outward sign for the actual, effective atonement of Jesus), the most notable examples of which were the Passover lamb at the eve of the exodus from Egypt (Exodus 12), and the true Passover Lamb, the Lamb of God Jesus, who takes away the sins of the world (John 1:29). Righteousness comes from the Lamb of God, covering me.
