Learn to Draw the Human Figure
This looks to be amazing. Many hours of informative video tutorials that makes you think about figure drawing from a different perspective.
A great resource for computer graphics artists, or aspiring computer graphics artists, who want to use the free and open source program Blender. The parent site (http://cgcookie.com/) looks interesting as well, but I haven't looked at everything yet.
Charcoal and Pencil Drawings by J. D. Hillberry
Another great photorealism site.
Brief look at the process of drawing digital comics.
The Natural Way to Draw: A Working Plan for Art Study by Kimon Nicolaides
This isn't your ordinary drawing book. It helps you develop discipline and fluidity (naturalness) via many hours of exercises. Read the reviews to find out more!

A gentle introduction to drawing.
Drawsketch - Drawing Lessons and Tutorials
Good collection of articles that got me started drawing again in 2003, before the era of YouTube tutorials.
Huge collection of free drawing lessons.
Amazing photorealism.
Christianity
Great place to look up Bible verses.
Great resource to look up the corresponding Greek and Hebrew texts.
With the mission to increase Bible literacy and help people grow deeper in the faith, this site provides an organized collection of Christian resources, from Q&As to articles, with strong emphasis on and copious references to Scripture.
A great resource for video summaries (<10 min. each) of the books of the Bible.
My current church (PCA). Excellent preaching, music, and ministry philosophy. Meets in Palo Alto on Sundays. Services are at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM.
Education
As the name suggests, OEDB is a database of online schools (and a huge one at that) for those considering online education or want to learn more about it. The site centralizes the resources necessary for a prospective student to do his/her own research, including rankings, many pages of advice, and links to thousands of online courses organized by school as well as by topic.
Languages
The quality of the videos and the teaching are great. The lessons are very systematic and subtleties are generally explained well. It's like a cross between classroom lecture and one-on-one tutoring.
Miscellaneous
A comprehensive skincare blog written by an actual scientist that both delves deeply into the actual science and communicates to the lay-person in a clear and entertaining way. If you're a nerd who appreciates well-written pop sci, or a lay-person who wants to discern truth from marketing fluff, this site delivers in spades.
Photography
Well-organized and very helpful site for people interested in cameras and learning photography. The articles are informative but not overwhelming.
Web Comics
Nerdy and sometimes romantic comic.
General Protection Fault (GPF)
Nerdy comics with fascinating story-lines. I believe the author is Christian.
Grad school comics. The funny thing is that most of it is true.
JEFBOT: The semi-autobiographical webcomic and blog of actor, Jeff Schuetze
Funny gaming-nerd comic with a splash of romance.
Beautifully illustrated sci-fi web-comic with compelling storyline. The artist's skills noticeably improve over the first few years.
Charming and thought-provoking comic.
Web Development Resources
Invaluable resource for determining browser compatibility for any CSS or HTML5 terms.
By far the best (most comprehensive and bug-free) mark-up conversion utility I have seen online. I used it to convert all my old posts.
A good read for all web designers and their clients.
Great reference. I use it mostly for CSS.
Great resource that transcribes Ruby on Rails tutorials on Railscasts so that they can be searchable. The tutorials are really short and simple, making learning really easy.
Worthy Causes
A great way to contribute to the spread of the God's word in China.
From the page itself, "Transparent Fish Fund is a 501(c)(3) US non-profit organization founded in 2011 in Palo Alto, California, established exclusively for charitable purposes to connect credible Chinese and East Asian grassroots NGOs with individuals from the West. The greater mission behind this work is to foster a sustainable long-term NGO culture in East Asia, and in doing so, spread a global spirit of philanthropy."
